  1. Your video was very moving, Ned. I felt your strengths as I read about your life and what you have experienced. I am sorry your children do not want to know more. I hope someday they will.

    1. Thanks, Duck. It has been way, way too long since we've been in touch. That's what I get for doing too much Facebook and not enough blogging. I am so glad to read your comment. I hope you are well and happy.

    2. You are so endearing and accepting, Ned. Those are two of the MANY things I really love about you. You make me feel important to you. That means a lot.

And, it is OK that you are on Facebook. I think the majority of the world is on Facebook and not on Blogger. Facebook and I are at odds with each other, so I try and stay away from it. IF I were on Facebook, you would be one of the reasons why. :)

I am doing alright. I am 3 weeks into a total knee replacement rehab. The pain is diminishing each day, and each day, I get more and more mobility. I am back on my bike, up to 10 minutes a day. baby steps will get me there. :)

I hope you are well. You have experienced a lot in your life, many wonderful things and also many losses. You have an amazing spirit and seem to really look for the good in life around you. That is such a great characteristic to have. I can see why so many people are drawn to you and want to be your friend.

Happy July 4th. Stay safe. I hope you are NOT near any of the wild fires burning our state away. Sheesh. (People and the idiotic things they do!) Love and respect, always. Duck

  2. Very confirming. Very sad at the same time. Very much my story. And yes, you (we) aren't alone (even though it feels that way at times).

  3. Thanks, Beck. What does it confirm for you? What is sad to you and why? Will you join me in posting a similar vid? Yes, our stories have parallels but also important differences. For example, you had the strength to go on a mission and that's made such a difference in your appreciation of the world. I look forward to your responses. All the best, my friend.

  4. Duck, I hope your new knee will bring you less pain and greater mobility as you adapt to it. Hope you're enjoying the 4th of July.

  6. aw, Neal, thanks buddy. Putting it together was intense for me. I felt the spirit just urging me on. Usually I like to fuss around with a video for a while, but I knocked it out in just a couple of nights. There are things I don't like about it technically and some of the writing could be better, but I just had this feeling of "do it now, do it, get it out, someone might need to see it, don't sit on it, do it." So that's a long way of saying thanks for letting me know that you saw it and found it to be powerful.
